Commonwealth Cake Company is not a high-volume bakery. Our wedding season peaks between April and November. We suggest at least ten (10) months notice for wedding cakes, but this does not always guarantee availability. All orders are taken on a first come, first served basis.
Each of our cakes is designed to be a meaningful showpiece for our clients. Price is determined based on design and size. Most of our clients invest between $2000-$5500. After an initial design consultation, we will provide you with a custom quote.
Commissions for our wedding cakes begin at $1500 before delivery and cake stand rental.
The short answer is no. We believe that your wedding cake should be the centerpiece of your reception and will be a lasting memory captured by your wedding photographer. It is not as cost effective as it might seem for several reasons. We bake the same amount of layers, regardless of whether it is a cake to serve all of your guests or a small cake with a sheet cake. Cupcakes actually take more time. Plus, sheet cakes simply are not as elegant. As an alternative, we do offer kitchen cakes in addition to a 125 serving wedding cake (or larger). Kitchen cakes are layered and filled just like the tiers of your wedding cake. By the time they’re filled and iced they are around 5-5 1/2 “ tall, the same as your wedding cake. We do offer micro-wedding cakes for more intimate weddings serving 60 or less.
Unfortunately, we do not offer cupcakes or other desserts. We’re happy to provide recommendations to other vendors that we trust and love.
Groom's cakes are only available in addition to a wedding cake. Pricing will vary depending on design and size. Most couples invest between $1000-$3000 for groom's cakes.
Consultations are available by appointment only, and highly recommended. We offer in-person or take away tasting boxes. Consultation/tastings are $125. In-person consultations usually take about 45 minutes, and we ask that you be prompt. If you need to cancel, we ask that you do so at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time.
We do not have a dedicated allergen free kitchen. When baking, we prepare cakes with nuts separately and can make cakes without nuts. However, there is always a chance of cross-contamination because we use shared equipment that processes nuts and gluten. If you have severe allergies we recommend that you contact a bakery with a dedicated nut or allergen free facility.

Due to the nature of our business, our full schedule, and our attention to detail we spend many hours planning and preparing before even beginning on a cake. In many cases decorative elements for your cake are created well in advance. For this reason, if you cancel your order the retainer shall not be refunded for any reason or transferred to another order. If you cancel your order after the final payment has been paid we reserve the right to determine if any refund is warranted. If your final payment is not received 14 calendar days before your event date your order will be canceled for nonpayment and no refunds will be issued on any money paid toward your order.

"Planning a wedding during a pandemic is already so challenging and Tiffany made the whole process so easy. Not only was the cake so yummy, but it was stunning. Tiffany executed the exact elegance and simplicity that my husband and I wanted. We could not have been happier working with her!."
"We had such a wonderful experience working with Tiffany. She is very responsive and accommodating, and went above and beyond. She offers so many amazing flavors that it was hard to choose just a few, but we couldn't have asked for a more delicious and beautiful cake on our wedding day."
